Hello Everyone,
We spent a good portion of the day yesterday making improvements to the site’s virtual infrastructure. You may not miss much by browsing the site, but hopefully things will be a little more stable.
It’s been a good year so far, and I have some more excellent second hand vinyl records to list here on the site.
Newly acquired Linn Sondak LP-12
Last month I was lucky to add a very nice original condition Linn LP-12 to my audio mix, a mid-1970s manufactured turntable which comes from what we might refer to as “audio royalty”. I’m running this one with a Denon switch so that it can be easily used side-by-side with my existing Rega P6 as they both employ the use of low output MC cartridges. The Rega Aria MK3 pre-amp I have actually accepts both an MM and MC source, but I don’t want to have to switch the cart in either deck.
Record Store Day 2025
I didn’t do much this year, but I did visit “the local” down in Bega at Sugar Sounds. Here I picked up a bunch of titles on my list including some classic rap (Salt n Pepa, RUN DMC) a big one from Iggy Pop (“Lust for Life”) and “Kill City”, an original South African cut of Rodriguez’ “Cold Fact” and clean copies of Bowie’s “Pinups”and the Specials self-titled.
My only actual RSD release purchase was Collective Soul’s “Blender” which I acquired from Landspeed Records in Canberra on the following Wednesday. This one has a few sleeper hits, but also some memorable tracks from movies as well.
That’s it for April.
Keep spinnin’
